It was a beautiful, sunny December morning in the capital of Japan, the air was slightly crisp and not a single cloud veiled the sky which was of a rich, azure color, as Hamao Kyousuke exited the “Toranomon” subway station in the city’s Minato ward heading for the headquarters of the ‘Pony Canyon’ production group. A quick glance at his watch told the young actor that he still had plenty of time until the start of the meeting he was expected to attend so he made his way to his destination at a leisurely pace, a faint smile playing about his mouth when the company’s building finally came into view.

He entered the office tower with a light spring in his step, the smile on his face growing wider when he spotted four young men in the lobby, three of them being very familiar. “Hello guys, long time no see,” he cheerfully greeted the members of the group who were engaged in a lively conversation, the words having barely left his mouth when he perceived the tallest man among them briskly making a beeline for him and only a few seconds later he felt himself being pulled into an affectionate hug. “There you are Mao! I’m so happy to see you! It’s been a while since we last met,” the rich, baritone voice of his friend and colleague resonated in the ebony-haired youth’s ears, the warm and affectionate undertone ringing in it causing the young actor to blush slightly.

Cats and garbage cans never seemed so menacing! Buckle your seatbelts for this one folks, ‘cause you’ll be flying, climbing, and fighting your way through some crazy obstacles with Daichan and Mao!

The Tale of Gingerbread Mao and the Quest to Find the Christmas Fairy

It was Christmas Eve and Daisuke was putting the finishing touches on his freshly baked gingerbread men when he heard the front door to his apartment open. He placed one more M&M button on the last cookie before heading toward the living room where the crackling sound of paper bags steered him toward his flustered boyfriend. Said boyfriend almost didn’t notice Daisuke approaching, but became startled and yelped girlishly when he caught sight of him, almost dropping the odd-looking figurine he was carrying in his hands.

Daisuke laughed at his lover’s antics. “So you were out shopping after all…I thought we agreed that we weren’t exchanging Christmas gifts this year,” he chided lightheartedly, eyeing the hideous porcelain—what was that, a fairy?—that Kyousuke was holding onto.

“Matching reindeer sweaters?” Kyousuke held up an oversized, bright red knitted sweater and observed it with an unreadable expression.

            “Yeah! Isn’t it amazing?” said Daisuke excitedly as he lifted his sweater up as well from the card board box.

            The two men were sitting around a tiny overly decorated Christmas tree that Daisuke had set up in his apartment. The tree imitated a John Pollack splatter painting, leaving nothing to the imagination.  Madonna’s version of “Santa Baby was playing softly in the background from a macbook located on-top of Daisuke’s work desk. They were both only clad in pajamas, fresh out the shower

            “It’s funny.” Kyousuke finally lost it and started to laugh. “But it’s so you.” He wasn’t expecting Daisuke to fall into the trend of buying those ugly 80’s styled Christmas sweaters. The fad had made its unfortunate return to the fashion world and Daisuke had fallen victim to the craze.

            The older man fended a playful hurt expression. “You hate it?”

Daisuke Watanabe’s reflection greeted him as he turned to look out his office window. Another last minute meeting had just ended and he had very limited time to pack up and make it to the bus stop. True he would only have to wait just under a half hour for another bus that took the same route but what with how the weather had been lately he wasn’t too keen on waiting.

Staring out the picture window that already had a fine layer of frost collecting along its edges, Hamao Kyosuke sat in the warm apartment he shared with his boyfriend of two years. He watched the people below as they hurried out of the rain and cold, running as they scrambled to get under shelter. In his hand he held what once was a vibrant potted plant; but looking at it now, Mao finally had to admit to himself that it was just a dead potted plant. What used to be lush, green leaves springing out in every direction; now looked brown and dry, just holding on for dear life to a sagging, brittle stick. Beautiful bright orange flowers that would happily greet Mao every time he came home from a hard day at work, were non-existent now; the petals sadly resembled dried out carcasses collecting on the soil at the base of the dead stem.

2. This year happens to be Mao’s turn to host a Christmas dinner for all his friends, and it’s the first time he attempts to cook. His cooking experience ends up being a total disaster, so he desperately calls Daichan, his best friend (who also happens to a have a little crush on Mao) to help him. Daichan ends up saving the day and the dinner turns out to be a success. How Mao will reward Daichan will be up to you. ALTERNATIVE: Daichan ends up making things even worse so now they have nothing edible, and their friends are here what will they do?!

3. include the following sentence in your DaiMao story: "And a VERY Merry Christmas to you little boy-!  Ooops, my mistake!  You're a BIG boy!"

4. It’s Christmas Eve and Daisuke has been planning to propose to his long-time boyfriend and love of his life, Kyousuke, on Christmas day. For some reason (to the discretion of the writer), the couple end up having a huge fight and Kyousuke leaves the house, breaking up with Daisuke. How and if Daisuke and Mao get back together before Christmas (and whether Daisuke will end up proposing) will be up to you.

5. One of 'DaiMao' tries to somehow sneak into the other's apartment in the middle of the night wearing a sexy Santa outfit, but falls thus creating a ruckus which leads to their discovery.

6. Daichan and Mao have started dating recently, and they’re both crazy about each other. Now, Christmas is right around the corner and Daichan has no idea what to buy for his boyfriend. Unbeknownst to him, Mao is also having the same dilemma. What will they do?

7. include the following sentences in your DaiMao story:
(1) "I ate too much Christmas Candy and now I'm more hyper than the Energizer Bunny!"
(2) “It’s throbbing with power!”

8. Daisuke, Kyousuke, and some other friends decide to spend the holidays up in the mountains. They rent a single cabin to share, and have brought everything they need with them for their little getaway, including presents to give each other, food, blankets, etc. While the other boys go out to fetch wood for the fireplace, Daisuke and Kyousuke stay behind in the cabin (for whatever reason), and there’s suddenly a big blizzard, causing it to snow so much that they are trapped alone in the cabin. What happens between them (and whatever happens to the friends) will be up to you.

9. ‘DaiMao’ wake up together in a bed after a Christmas Party wearing nothing but their underwear, but have no memory, major hangovers and they are not yet dating each other at the time! Now they have to try and remember what happened, by recreating the night before, step by step.

10. Daisuke is obligated to leave the country for a few days, due to some important work-related reason, which will cause him to be away from his boyfriend/fiancé/husband, Mao, during Christmas. Naturally, Mao is very disappointed but has no choice but to accept the fact that he would not be spending the holiday with Daisuke. What happens next (and whether Daisuke will end up surprising Mao for the holidays) will be up to you.

11. One of the guys must give a present secretly to the other, each day of the week before Christmas.

12. Daisuke and Kyousuke have been dating for a long time and recently moved in with each other. For Christmas, Kyousuke’s mother decides to come for a surprise visit, but she has no idea that her son is gay, let alone living with his boyfriend. Still in the closet (and not ready to come out yet), Kyousuke has an agreement with his boyfriend that they will pretend Daisuke is his roommate to try and get through the holidays in peace. Whatever happens next is completely up to you.

13. include BOTH of the following sentences in your DaiMao story:
(1) "I don't DO Santa hats! It just doesn't fit in with my image. And there's no bloody WAY I'm going about jingling a bell and yelling Merry Christmas either!"
(2) "Look up-see that, it's mistletoe. Guess what I want from you?"

14. It’s New Year’s Eve and Daisuke and his boyfriend/fiancé/husband, Mao, have been planning to attend a big New Year’s event that they have been really excited for. The problem is, Daisuke wakes up feeling sick and the couple have no choice but to celebrate low-key at home this year. How they cope with this change of plans will be up to you.

15. On Christmas Day, one of DaiMao admits their love for the other in the most romantic way.

16. An AU where Daisuke is in the army and has been deployed to –some country- where he hasn’t seen his boyfriend/fiancé/husband, Kyousuke for over a year. The couple miss each other like crazy but have been able to cope with the distance through video messaging and email. This year, however, Daisuke has been given permission to leave for the holidays, and he decides to surprise his sweetheart. How he does that, and anything that happens when they’re finally together again, will be up to you.

17. One of DaiMao is blackmailed into kissing the other before the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve - but the problem is, they can't FIND them!

18. Daisuke is babysitting his little niece/nephew for the weekend and he takes him/her to the mall, where he/she insist on taking a picture with Santa. Reluctant at first, Daisuke ends up taking his niece/nephew to see this pretend Santa, and gets an unexpected pleasant surprise when one of Santa’s “elves” (a.k.a. Mao) starts discreetly flirting with him. What happens next and how Daisuke reacts will be up to you.

19. include the following dialogue in your story:
(Speaker 1) “We’re trapped! With no way out! Wearing nothing but silly Santa hats and our underwear!”
(Speaker 2) "Speaking of which, aren't those MY boxer shorts?"

20. Kyousuke recently went through a rough break-up with his ex-girlfriend/boyfriend and ends up having to celebrate New Year’s alone. He goes some place to watch the fireworks and finds a stranger named Daisuke who he is able to make a connection with. What happens from here and the nature of their blossoming relationship will be up to you. BONUS: Kyousuke gets a New Year’s kiss after all!

21. Both of DaiMao are selling Christmas chocolates for the local charity and try to get everyone they know to buy them - including each other!

22. Daisuke and Mao wake up to see a blanket of white on their front lawn, and excitedly go outside to play in the snow. A snow battle will ensue, but how snow fight escalates and whether anyone else will join them will be up to you.

23. DaiMao aren’t a couple yet, but it’s obvious to their friends that they have fallen for each other. As a result DaiMao keep getting set up in the days before Christmas by everyone around them!  Everywhere they turn, mistletoe appears and everyone makes them kiss!
Also include the following sentence in your story: "It's so big! You didn't tell me it was that big. No, I really don't think I can do this..."

24. Daichan and Mao decorate their house for the holidays while they reminisce about their Christmas’ past (Christmas’ they have celebrated together, that is). Lots of flashbacks, good, bad and funny are recommended for this fanfiction.

25. The Closet Scenario:  At a Christmas party held at one of their friends’ home DaiMao end up trapped in a closet together, when they try to get out the knob falls off.  They're trapped in the closet for at least an half an hour…
Also include the following sentences in the story:
(1) “Nice pecs”
(2) "Yes, no, no, no, no, no, yes, no, no, no, no, no, yes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, wait a minute, YES!"

26. Daisuke and Kyousuke decide to spend the holidays abroad in a foreign country. Where they go and what they do will be up to you.

27. DaiMao do some Christmas shopping at the mall and as luck would have it Santa Claus is there entertaining the kids. One of DaiMao ends up sitting on Santa’s lap as a dare, much to the delight of the other!
Also include both of the following sentences in your story:
(1)"If I hear one more kinky innuendo, I won't be held responsible for my actions!" "Is that a promise?"
(2) "I'm too sexy for my shirt…Too sexy for my shirt…So sexy it huuuuurts!"

28. Daisuke is lonely and miserable. On Christmas Eve, the Spirit of Christmas grants him one wish to undo any mistake he made during Christmastime in his past, and Daisuke decides to use that wish to make things right with his past lover, Kyousuke. Whatever happened between them and how things end up will be up to you. [Note: idea based very loosely on Charles Dickens’ “The Christmas Carol”]

29. DaiMao are trying to spend a romantic Christmas Eve together in mountain cabin and all sorts of hilarious events occur throughout the day and evening ranging from snowball fights, sugar rush and so on to setting the Christmas tree on fire!
Also include the following sentences in your story:
(1) "I'm a little teapot, short and stout.  Here is my handle, here is my spout.  When I get all steamed up then I shout.  Tip me over and...Hey!"
(2) “I want candy!” (singing)

30. Daisuke and Mao decide to spend Christmas together at home with their pets, and have a cozy evening together watching Christmas movies and ordering take-out. Christmas sex is a given, but it will be up to you whether or not you decide to write smut.
